History that goes back to over 100 years when Lala Prahlad Swaroop Gupta came to Dehradun along with family in 1901 and carved a niche under the name 'Prahlad Rewari Wale' with his special offer of delectable Rewari and Gajak under the firm name ' Gadarmal Ganeshi Lal' at Purani Subzi Mandi, Dehradun.
Shri Anand Swaroop Gupta son of Lala Prahlad Swaroop Gupta joined his father in the year 1960. Later in 1974 he Opened 'Gupta Sweets (Now renamed as Anandam Express). Mr.Sumit khandelwal, the third generation took the legacy forward and worked round the clock to give shape to Anandam. He states that he decided to name the shop after his father.
Anandam boasts of warm and elegant interiors. The mural at the entrance creates an enchanting effects and it appear to transform the entrance wall space into a piece from another world. Three luminous shades are suspended from the ceiling to diffuse a gentle light, so the overall effect is most pleasing and welcoming.Anandam has a long history of serving only fresh and delicious food.
